How to ask
- Send a deletion request with the button below, using the email address you sign in to Smalti with.
- We confirm it is you by replying to that address. Nothing is deleted on the word of an unverified request.
- We delete your account and data as described below, and tell you when it is done — within 30 days of confirming, and usually much sooner.

What is deleted
- Your sign-in: your password, every signed-in device and its push notification token. You are signed out everywhere, at once.
- Your profile: your name, email address and phone number, the locations and positions you were set up for, any pay rates your workplace recorded for you, your profile photo, and your clock tablet PIN.
- Your scheduling activity: your shift assignments, the marketplace posts, claims and swap offers you made, and your availability and time-off requests.
- Your messages and notifications: the messages you sent in team groups, the notes you left in a location’s shift log, and your inbox.
What is kept, and for how long
- Time records — four years. If you have clocked in with Smalti, your clock-ins, clock-outs, breaks and any corrections to them are kept for four years from when each was made, then deleted. They are your employer’s payroll records, and employers are required by law to keep them. In that case your account is closed rather than erased: you are signed out everywhere, can no longer sign in, and receive nothing further from Smalti. Your name and work history stay with those records for the four years, visible only to your workplace’s managers and administrators. Any pay rates your workplace recorded for you stay with them too, still encrypted.
- Checklist records — kept the same way. If you have filled in a checklist — an opening list, a temperature log — your answers and who gave them are kept as your employer’s records, and your account is closed rather than erased, as above.
- Shifts you created for other people stay on the schedule, with your name removed.
- Backups — up to 35 days. Smalti keeps encrypted nightly backups so it can recover from a failure. What is deleted leaves the live service at once and the backups as they age out, within 35 days. Backups are never used to bring deleted data back into service, except to recover from a failure.
Deleting some data, not the account
You can delete a message you sent from inside the app. For anything else — a correction to your details, or a copy of your data — use the support form.
Who decides
Your Smalti account is issued by your employer, who is responsible for the data in their organization; we act on their behalf. We tell your workplace’s administrator about a deletion request, because your shifts have to be covered by someone. More in the privacy policy.
